HOT OIL TURBAN THERAPY AT HOME!

You make be hearing a lot about hot turban therapy but what exactly is it?

Hot turban therapy is essentially a method of hair steaming. It can solve many hair problems which are not leaving us and improve overall scalp condition. It is done by mixing some natural oils and wearing a hot towel on your head like a turban. It is perhaps the most effective and easy therapy for hair at home.

So, for all the people out there struggling with unhealthy hair you guys need to try this!

What is steaming hair?

Hair steaming is done by either a hair steamer (you would’ve seen them at salons) or a hot towel. It is used to open up your hair follicles so they can be cleaned thoroughly. This removes scalp buildup and makes your hair and scalp healthy and nourished, so basically yeah improves overall condition of the scalp! It allows oils and hair products to go in deeply and work more effectively, there’s another method to open up your follicles and clean them on my blog, do check it out too!

Benefits

Turban therapy works very effectively for hair problems such as
  • Hair fall
  • Dry hair
  • Dull and damaged hair
  • scalp buildup
  • slow hair growth
  • split ends
The oils used in the therapy have many benefits for your hair like

Castor oil: Natural moisturizer, antioxidant, ease dandruff, promote healthy hair growth, protect against hair loss.

Olive oil: Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, promotes moisturized healthy scalp, makes your hair softer, healthier and shinier.

Corn oil: Locks in moisture (no dryness, no dry ends), nourishes the scalp, has vitamin E which makes it highly moisturizing and antioxidating, vitamin K prevents hair loss.

Coconut oil: Adds shine, moisturizes hair, prevents breakage, prevents spit ends, makes your hair grow longer, makes your hair thick, helps to remove sebum from scalp.

How to do it

You need:

  1. Coconut oil
  2. Castor oil
  3. Olive oil
  4. Corn oil
  5. A bath towel
  6. Hot water
In a bowl mix equal amounts of oil, you can add your favorite essential oils or herbs to make it more beneficial, but the oils alone are already super good for your head. Heat them up and let them cool down completely and the massage it into your scalp and hair just like you do.

Now you can either wait at least 2 hours and start with the towel therapy or you can let it stay in your head overnight and continue in the morning, your choice!

After 2 hours or overnight, whatever you decide, take a towel and dip in hot water (don’t burn your head), squeeze out the excess water and wrap it around your hair like a turban for around 15-20 mins and the wash with a mild shampoo.

Be careful!

Do it once a week only, excess doing can make your hair weak which can lead to breakage, So instead of making your hair healthy you would just be making them unhealthier.

Make a bun before towel so that the ends get the heat too not just your scalp.

Try not to add a lot of essential oils as thy can damage our hair

Don’t burn your head or hands with hot water! The water should be warm enough that your hand and scalp can bear nicely.

These are toxic ingredients found in practically everything: cleansers, moisturizers, toners, exfoliates, creams, and various other cosmetics. 1- Alcohol Astringents and toners mostly have alcohol in them. Alcohol is very bad for your skin, it can dry out your skin which can sap your moisture levels and cause skin irritation and itchiness plus affect how your skin rejuvenates, so people with sensitive skin… just don’t even try. 2- Fragrance Did you know that fragrances rank among the top 4 most common allergens when performing the patch-test? I don’t u...

TOP 10 WAYS TO MINIMIZE PORES!

Wondering how to minimize pores? Well if you search on the internet you’ll find many different ways but not all of them work, I’ve got here the top 10 tips and remedies that actually work. Pores are small openings that cover all of the skin in your body. Enlarged pores are my worst fear and I know a lot of people have the same fear. But there are many ways you can stop this from happening. Many factors can lead to enlarge pores, some out of our control including genetics and aging and some we can control like blackheads, sun damage and oily skin. Sun damage can actually thicken your skin, which leads to bigger pores, HOW? Oily and unclean skin can cause oils to settle around the pores, making them appear larger as the skin around them thickens. When skin produces too much oil it mixes with the dead skin and clog pores. Blackheads, acne infection resulting from clogged pores with sebum can also lead to larger pores. People with oily skin produce a lot of sebum so th...
