HOMEMADE SUGAR WAX

Getting waxed at salons can be expensive let’s be honest but why go out for waxing when you can just do it at home? I’m gonna teach you how to make you own sugar wax at home and do it even if you don’t have waxing strips at home!

Benefits of sugar wax

  • Its 100% natural making
  • Gentle to skin
  • Minimized risk of ingrown hair
  • No risk of allergies
  • Easier to clean up
  • Skin friendly ad effective
  • Less hair after every sugar waxing.

Preparation

  1. Exfoliate your skin before waxing a day before you plan to wax, by doing this the wax can grip hair better. Wash the area with regular soap.
  2. If your skin is sensitive and waxing is very painful for you take an ibuprofen half an hour before, this way waxing will feel less painful
  3. Wax in a warm environment .Waxing can be more painful in cold environment , warm air helps your follicles stay open and the hair will come out more easily.
  4. Apply baby powder before you apply wax, it'll help absorb any excess moisture so the wax will work more effectively.

How to make wax

For this you need:

  1. Sugar 1 cup
  2. Water 1 cup
  3. Lemons 5
In a pot add water then sugar and let it boil on high flame.
When it starts to boil put on medium heat and squeeze 5 lemons in it.
Let it boil until it turns to golden brown but not a dark color and a burnt lemon smell starts coming off from the mixture.
Turn the flame off and wait for it to cool down a little enough that you put it on finger.

Wax without waxing strips

You can use jeans to wax! Yes, you read that right the jean pants.
Cut strips from the jean pants and use them as your waxing strip

How to wax

Apply a thin layer of the sugar wax you made to you skin and place a strip of jean on it, rub a little and then pull off!
Pull the strip against the direction of hair growth and try not to wax the same place twice as it can damage your skin.

Try my alum remedy (phatkhari) after waxing if you want to reduce you hair growth!
